Jiu Jitsu Fundamentals

New to Jiu Jitsu? Our fundamentals class is designed for beginners, covering essential no-gi positions and techniques without sparring, making it a safe way to learn. Each hour-long session starts with a light warm-up, followed by 45 minutes of drilling techniques focused on a specific position. This class helps you build a solid foundation and prepares you for All Levels classes by familiarizing you with different techniques and positions.

Do you face any of these challenges?

  • Struggling to control movements and unintentionally disrupting practice.
  • Difficulty focusing on learning new techniques or completing drills.
  • Challenges in sharing space and equipment with others during training.

Women's only

Women's only Our free women’s-only Jiu Jitsu classes provide a safe and supportive space to learn effective self-defense. With most physical altercations ending on the ground, learning how to defend yourself from your back is crucial. These classes help women build confidence, strengthen their bodies, and connect with a community of strong women. We offer a safe environment, especially for those who may have experienced trauma.

Do you face any of these challenges?

  • You find it difficult to assert yourself in physical situations or feel uncertain about your ability to defend yourself.
  • You struggle with self-doubt and want to build confidence in your physical capabilities.
  • You feel isolated and want to connect with a supportive community of women who share similar interests and experiences.

Wrestling

Since all Jiu Jitsu matches and most altercations start standing, our takedown classes teach you how to safely bring the fight to the ground and secure a dominant position. Whether you aim to compete or want self-defense skills, we focus on techniques like hand fighting, Russian and baseball grip 2-on-1 tie-ups, and takedown defense. These skills are essential for both street defense and sport Jiu Jitsu.

Do you face any of these challenges?

  • You feel unprepared or hesitant when engaging in standing confrontations and want to develop effective takedown skills.
  • You struggle to maintain balance and control during physical encounters, making it hard to secure a dominant position.
  • You want to enhance your self-defense capabilities while also preparing for competition, but you’re unsure where to start.

All Levels Jiu jitsu

Our All-Levels Jiu Jitsu classes build on techniques from the Fundamentals classes, with deeper instruction and live positional sparring. After a brief warmup, we focus on mastering specific techniques, followed by sparring against a resisting opponent to refine your skills. This class is ideal for those with Jiu Jitsu experience or a strong athletic foundation who are ready for live rolling.

Do you face any of these challenges?

  • You’re struggling to bridge the gap between fundamental techniques and live sparring.
  • You want to refine your skills but find it difficult to execute techniques against resisting opponents.
  • You feel ready to challenge yourself with live rolling but are unsure how to incorporate new techniques effectively.

The 10th planet community has quickly become a major part of my life. They welcomed me in as a beginner and helped me developed my skills with patience and kindness every step of the way. They supported me through an injury through community advice and referrals. They have also welcomed my family, including my kids and wife in events. I am so grateful for the lessions, and friendship I have experienced here. I expected to learn jiu jitsu, but I was treated to so much more! Thank you, guys!

Stopped by for Sunday open mat and after having been to Coach Connor Heun’s 10th planet Denver location numerous times for open mat it was no surprise to me how well put together this space was. Also, being so close to the front range it is easily accessible for mountain folks. The attention to detail and cleanliness will keep me coming back.

I mustered up the courage to step onto the mats for the first time last October. The coaches and team were very welcoming, helpful, and have since fueled a new passion I have for learning 10P Jiu Jitsu. Going on 8 months now at the Denver location, I am extremely glad I made that decision last year. I feel a new sense of confidence in myself, I’ve found life’s stresses to be more manageable, and I am probably the most mentally healthy I’ve been in a while due to new friendships, physically/mentally challenging but fun classes, and feeling the general care in the building that everyone has for each other. If you are thinking about giving it a shot, take the next step onto the mats. You won’t regret it. I look forward to seeing the team and community that’s going to be built in Longmont.
